Music Monday: Anna Burzynski
Junior Anna Burzynski casually speaks on her current favorite songs, perfect for the transition into Spring.
Natalie by Bruno Mars
This one came out of nowhere for me. It is my go to swim warm up song. I haven’t listened to Bruno Mars in a while, but this song might just get me into him because I don’t know what he put in this song.
So Much Wine cover by Phoebe Bridgers
Ouch. Yeah this song hurts, but I always love Phoebe’s covers for Christmas. They always fill me with a sense of nostalgia from something I haven’t even experienced. The guitar in the background is so crisp and nice to me. It makes me feel happy, but also so so sad. It is a perfect background song for my mid-afternoon naps.
Free by Florence + The Machine
This song is the winter turning into spring for me. The way the beat is makes me feel like the days when it is finally warm and sunny and you can start to put your winter clothes away. It is the perfect driving in your car to a dancing song. It is always able to put me in a better mood after I listen to it.
Oom Sha La La by Haley Heynderickx
At first when I heard this song I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not. After listening to it a few times I began to love it. I found this song when my friend played it while driving me to school. It is very simple in the beginning but then it builds. I enjoy the change in the tone of the song. It is a song that started me to listen to other genres and artists. It was a gateway song.
Like Real People Do by Hozier
Mmm. Rotting in the woods. This is one of my favorite songs from Hozier. I love it so much that it was in my top songs in Spotify Wrapped. It is so soothing to listen to. Another great song to take a nice nap to. (There seems to be a theme with napping) All together it is one of the first songs I suggest to people if they want to listen to Hozier.
Stick Season by Noah Kahan
I love Vermont too Noah Kahan! This is one of my songs that reminds me of campfires and the woods. It is a perfect camp song. His whole album is amazing. Other songs that I love from it are Northern Attitude and Growing Sideways.
Want Want by Maggie Rogers
I don’t personally listen to Maggie Rogers, but I love this song. It is so upbeat and just nice to listen to. The opening singing just makes me so happy. It is a song that is simple and Maggie’s voice is so clean and fresh sounding to me.
