Monday Morning by Cece Coakley
This song is the perfect rainy day song to start your Monday morning drive to school. It offsets any rainy-day blues and starts the day off right. Cece Coakley is one of my go-to artists for autumn vibes.
Garden Party by Masego, Big Boi, and JID
I remember the first time I heard this song was when it was slightly cloudy outside and one of my friends was driving a couple of us around Nulu. It was an instant addition to my playlist. The unique mix of different instruments, beats, and styles makes the song so memorable. It’s the perfect blend of jazz and R&B, creating the most serene and mellow energy, perfect for driving.
Shampoo Bottles by Peach Pit
In my opinion, Peach Pit is one of the most underrated bands of all time. I was first introduced to them by a now-graduated senior last year, and we bonded over this song’s messages of heartbreak and healing that encapsulate rainy days to their fullest. My initial memories of this song cause me to search for Peach Pit’s sound through every season..
Eternal Sunshine by Lou Val
The only word I can use to describe this next song is ethereal. Although the title may seem ironic to play during autumn’s cloudy days, it’s an essential song that always plays in the background whether I’m studying or staying in. It emulates a bubble of bliss, turning rainy days into more enjoyable days I look forward to having.
Hand Me Downs by Mac Miller
This last song I was only recently introduced to, but it will soon become a staple. This whole album, Circles, is a rainy-day classic. Mac Miller has the best lyrical songs for every occasion, but this one in particular, although slightly bittersweet, is unmatched in stormy-weather energy. I like to think of it as the calm during the storm. I fully recommend adding this song to your playlist if you’re ever in need of a soul-soothing track.
