Located on Cardinal Boulevard, the newly opened Bayt Al Mocha is a cozy area for all coffee lovers. The shop’s name means House of Mocha, and the cafe certainly lives up to the name.
One of my fellow staffers, Bailey Molinari, and I decided to try out the young cafe. Walking in, we were greeted by the fragrant smell of coffee and sugar, like we’d stepped into a little slice of comfort. The air was alive with a rich, velvety aroma of freshly brewed coffee, blended with the faint conversation of students, teachers, and friends alike. My eyes scanned the cafe, settling on the elaborate display of quick bites offered. From flaky croissants and creamy cheesecakes to savory chicken taquitos, there’s something for everyone to try.
I ordered the Bayt Spiced Shaken Espresso ($7.95) and a pumpkin cake pop ($2.25). While waiting for my order I couldn’t help but admire the cafe’s aesthetic, the walls decorated with green leaves and a grand mirror that was perfect for taking selfies with friends. When I got my order the pumpkin cake pop was an amazing surprise – not overwhelmingly sweet, instead filled with a rich pumpkin spice flavor with a hint of cinnamon warmth. Paired with my espresso, which was perfectly balanced, it quickly became one of my favorite sweets and was easily the highlight of my day.
Bayt Al Mocha isn’t just a coffee shop, it’s an experience I would highly recommend. Whether you’re just looking for a place to study, catch up with friends or to just treat yourself with something special, this spot is truly worth a visit.
