Rush hour bustle can be irritating and often feels never-ending, from stand-still traffic after a long day to noisy car horns. When thinking about going out for a bite, the last place anyone wants to walk into is a loud, stressful environment. Caffe Classico is just the opposite.
Walking into Caffe Classico felt like a breath of fresh air. Upon entering, I was greeted by warm smiles and a welcoming ambiance. Classical music played in the background as I skimmed the menu.
I was met with a menu with an abundance of options and found it hard to narrow it down.
There were many appetizers, including the popular Belgian pomme frittes ($7.50), which I was sure I would get. Along with those, I ordered the chicken empanadas ($9.75) and Linzer cookies ($5).
My meal came out quickly, only taking around ten minutes. The chicken empanada was cooked perfectly and tasted excellent – almost like a chicken pot pie. A cup of chipotle mayo was off to the side, perfect for dipping and adding extra tang.
The Belgian pomme frittes were just the right amount of crispy. Because of their incredible taste and light crunch, they went quickly. Three different sauces were included, giving me various options to add flavor.
Although all my plates were empty, I still had room for dessert. I had two Linzer cookies: one with raspberry jam filling and the other with apricot jam filling. Each cookie had a shortbread base, was filled with jam, and was topped off with powdered sugar. Each melted in my mouth, and I was eager for bite after bite.
From the alluring environment to the delicious food, Caffe Classico is one place that will make its way onto my list of favorite restaurants. I highly recommend it!
