The transition of summer to fall can be tough, but these country songs help me say goodbye to pool days and hello to crunching leaves.
Cruise, Florida Georgia Line
This song has been incredibly popular recently, but things are basic for a reason. If you know me and, more specifically, if you have ever been in my car, you know this song. To me, this song is the perfect song to play, driving with the windows down, on the way to a party, on the way home from school, or even just to the mall. You could never expect me to play this song anywhere but my car, but if you’re in my car expect to hear this song. This is just such an upbeat song to always get and keep me in a good mood.
May We All, Florida Georgia Line ft Tim McGraw
Another classic by Florida Georgia Line, May We All is an amazing song. “You learn to fly, and if you can’t, you just free fall.” This song is about the two parties’ life experiences and experiencing the fulfillment of life. This song really sticks with me because at the end of the day, you can’t rely on others for your happiness, and this song stresses that.
Wagon Wheel, Darius Rucker
Such a classic in my mind, released 12 years ago, this song was definitely a staple of my childhood, almost as a comfort song. When I hear the chorus, “rock me mama like a wagon wheel, rock me mama any way you feel, hey mama rock me,” I can’t help but start singing along and bobbing my head. This is such a soothing and fun song to me, and it’s one of those songs that even though you listen to it a lot, never gets old.
Bitin’ List, Tyler Childers
This song recently blew up on TikTok. Released in July, this song is spitefully fun. It’s very upbeat, and to me and the line “if there ever comes a time, I got rabies, you’re high on my bitin’ list” is the reason it blew up and rightfully so. Besides the chorus, the rest of the song is pretty good and always a good listen.
I Remember Everything, Zach Bryan, and Kasey Musgraves
Definitely the best country song of the fall. This is cliché, but it is the best driving song on the way to school on fall mornings. To me, this song is hot coffee in the morning, a bonfire at night, and a warm, cozy bed to fall into.
