The air is crisp, the hoodies are out, and pumpkin spice lattes are back! 

To welcome the beginning of fall, here are 5 of my favorite songs to listen and cozy up to during this weather.

“Dirty Dancer” by Orion Sun

The subtle R&B beats along with Orion’s soft but soulful voice touches parts of my brain that I didn’t know could be reached. This song encapsulates the feeling of waiting to be good enough but also trying to love yourself along the way. The calm vibes match this weather perfectly!

“Prom” by Sza

Similar vibes to dirty dancer, this whole album is essential to fall. The line “right now I feel it pouring…” plays in my head every time it drizzles outside. It’s one of those songs that reminds me to slow down and stay in the moment instead of rushing through it.

“Amoeba” by Clairo

When doing this list, I thought to include only songs I’ve been into recently, but doing a fall playlist without this song felt like such a crime.  The jazzy cafe beats mixed with Clairo’s, soft and mellow voice feels like the warm cup of coffee in your hands as you’re walking through the fall leaves. It’s basically the fall anthem. 

“Useless” by Omar Apollo

The guitar riffs in this song are everything. Omar Apollo blends indie and R&B so seamlessly that it feels both upbeat and soothing at the same time. It’s the kind of track that makes you want to stare dramatically out a car window on a gray fall afternoon.

“Reason” by Cleo Sol

This song is pure serenity. Cleo Sol’s voice has that heavenly, weightless quality that makes everything feel softer. The slow and calm pace makes it stellar for studying, journaling, or just curling up on the couch.
