“Greetings From Louisville” by Greetings Tour on 1101 Central Ave.
After looking around their neighborhood, John and Mary Kay Dixon reached out to Greetings Tour to discuss an idea to liven up their everyday setting. In October of 2018, Greetings Tour put that idea into action. Wanting to incorporate the local pride of the city, they made sure to capture images of special landmarks and ideas to recreate in their design. From invasive weeds, a long wall-priming process, uneven pavement, and hot weather, many struggles arose as they began the process. Greetings, Tour invited another mural artist, Often Seen Rarely Spoken, to come help. After just a couple more days, the Greetings Tour finished the mural with long-lasting friends they made along the journey. Talking with locals as they worked was a highlight, truly portraying the community of Louisville within their own mural.

“Rabbit Hole” by Jeremy Booth in collaboration with Often Seen Rarely Spoken on 700 East Market St.
Both being Louisville-based artists, in 2020, Jeremy Booth and Often Seen Rarely Spoken, wanted to create a piece of artwork to capture their respect and love for the city. Right outside of the Rabbit Hole Distillery, the artists wanted to replicate the view of Louisville in the window. To represent the Nulu neighborhood, Booth and his collaborators painted and outlined with extremely vibrant colors to resemble the liveliness of the community around it, becoming an extravagant art piece for the downtown area.

“Nulu Wildflower” by Liz Richter on 701 East Market St.
On the side of Red Tree in Nulu, a variety of Kentucky wildflowers span across the grey brick wall. Liz Richter, a local artist from the city, specializes in florals. The theme differs depending on the project, with some companies giving her a specified artistic way to go about and others giving Richter full range of freedom. For “Nulu Wildflower,” in 2018, Richter aimed to showcase the growth, creativity and persistence of the city she sees every day. Flowers spanning from one side of the building to the other emphasize the never-ending determination and artistic ability of Louisville and its community.

“The Unified Race” by Kacy Jackson on 823 East Market St.
With fiery and vivid colors, two horses in stride were painted in an abstract style by Kacy Jackson in 2021. Capturing what Louisville is famous for, this mural portrays racing horses and brings light back to the downtown community. Jackson hopes his work brings healing and joy to the NuLu marketplace with a pop of color.
