“Tempted” by Squeeze

I found this song from a random Pandora playlist that my dad put on shuffle on New Years Eve. I had a little moment with it and it caught my attention. It reminds me of The Beatles in a sense, and just has a nice old music soul vibe to it. It’s also super catchy.

“It Ain’t Over Til It’s Over” by Lenny Kravitz

Truly one of the greatest songs ever in my opinion. This song came out in the late 90’s and is still sampled in many songs to this day. The lyrics are timeless and I think the message is inspiring. One of my current favorite songs to sing to in the car. And Lenny Kravitz is just amazing. Cinna forever.

“Original Sin” by Sofi Tukker

Recently… I love house music. My sister is the one who introduced me to the genre and it has really grown on me. I don’t know if this song would really be considered as “house music,” but I think it has a really good beat and lyrics. I used to play it at least twice every time I was in my car and now I can’t really listen to it anymore. Great song though.

“So Young by Portugal” the Man

This song sounds so unique to me. It reminds me a lot of the band “Morcheeba,” which I wrote about in my last Music Monday. I think the lead singer has a special voice and it pairs really well with the funky instrumental music in the background. I showed this song to my dad and he loved it, which made me love it more.

“Cinnamon Girl” by Lana Del Ray

Ohhh Lana Del Rey. LDR is my absolute favorite and this song does something to my soul. It is also the perfect nap song and I love reading with it in the background too. This entire album (Norman F******* Rockwell) is a masterpiece and if you listen to anything from this list, let it be that.

“But I Do” by Poldoore

This song is a funky little winter bop that I love listening to in the mornings. It just puts me in a good mood. It’s also one of those songs that you just know parents will love. It permanently reminds me of December now.
